Welcome back to Top Startups! Hot off the press: I wrote about why joining a lean fast-growing startup can, ironically, be the least risky thing to do right now.
Here are my favorites this week. Any catch your eye, LMK and I can intro you π
Greylock | Consumer, Enterprise, Crypto, ML | πΈ $500M Seed fund
What they do: Theyβve worked with Figma, Abnormal Security, Instabase, and many other $B+ companies starting in their early days. Hiring for a portfolio of startups (consumer, enterprise, crypto, ML)
What I like: Strong track record of incubating hits; you'll get to pick across a promising portfolio; early enough for massive career and equity upside
TRM Labs | Crypto security | πΈ $70M Series B from Bessemer, YC | 150 employees
What they do: Monitor, detect, investigate crypto fraud and financial crime; customers include Shopify, Binance, Circle, the IRS and FBI π΅οΈββοΈ
What I like: If crypto is fraught with anything these days, itβs unsavory fraud β TRM is building the picks and shovels to curb crime on this new frontier; revenue has grown 600% YoY since 2019 launch; experienced founders
Synthesia | AI SaaS | πΈ $50M Series B from Kleiner Perkins | 120 employees
What they do: Create polished videos from plain text in minutes using AI
What I like: Videos have historically been a pain to make, but no longer; 12,000+ customers incl. Nike, Google, the BBC now use Synthesia to turn boring docs, PPTs and PDFs into engaging videos; think Canva for video

π Iβve helped people negotiate an extra $3M+ π€― with startups. Here are the scripts, strategies and questions that are proven to work β yes, even in a bear market without competing offers π₯
